Would it make you feel better if I told you the alternator died, and that resulted in me having to remove the entire nose of the car to replace it and changing the timing belt while I was in there? Also while it was on jack stands, one of the front airbags stretched, cracked, and stopped holding air.

Not so bad. I have two reliable vehicles as backup, I always anticipated the allroad sitting for periods of time in my garage. I would have bought the damn thing yesterday if we had agreed on a price.

What engine and transmission are we talking about? Mine was the 2.7t with the 6mt, but I always thought the 4.2 would be an awesome engine for that car.

I was on the highway when the alternator died, about 20 minutes from home. The air suspension is stupid, so it kept trying to run the whole way home. A mile from my house I was down on the bump stops, air compressor still trying to run, I’m shouting at it to stop and just supply spark for christs sake. I got into my driveway and it died before I stopped moving.

Even when it failed it still got me home. Best car ever.
